Andrew Long
My name is Andrew Long, and I am a PhD student and Teaching Assistant at the Department of History, at Mississippi State University. Before this, I started my journey at Florida State College of Jacksonville, before transferring and completing my Undergrad at University of North Florida. I completed my Masters Studies at Drew University, in Madison New Jersey, and spent a year abroad in Taiwan as an ESL teacher.
I'm interested in Economic and Political history, focused on how America interacts with other global powers, and the consequences hereafter of the actions undertaken. I wrote my Thesis on the Bretton Woods Conference of 1944 and hope to further study the impact that the Truman Administration may have had, not only on the Post-War peace of the Second World War, but the potential consequences it held for the Cold War in part. I hope to further study the systems by in which help keep the world connected, and how they may be corrected and adjusted to not only create stability, but improvement for life of all people. While most people may not wish to engage with economics due to its' scope, I think understanding economics is vital to understanding the movement of nations.
