Giesen is the 16th member of the current Mississippi State University faculty awarded that honor.

The university’s Instructional Improvement Committee selected Giesen according to the following criteria:engagement of students;assessment of teaching and learning;clarity and organization of teaching;variety of teaching methods;enthusiasm;scholarship in teaching

A medal designating Giesen a Grisham Master Teacher accompanied the award.

Giesen will address the university community on some aspect of pedagogy this fall.
